THE CLIENT
Dr. Georgianna Duarte is a Professor at the University of Texas at Brownsville. She is part of the Early Childhood Department.

I would describe this experience as too good to be true.  I had the blessing of working with an excellent instructor and human being.   She was very interested in making this project work, so I had no difficulty making appointments with her, getting her to respond to my emails, giving me the necessary material.  She is a very humble person and was always willing to accept my suggestions to make the class more effective in an online setting.

Also, she was very supportive to all her students by replying to their emails in an appropriate time frame and making her cell phone number available and responding to their calls.  I believe this was crucial to making this experience a positive one, because it reduced the anxiety some students felt. Some other characteristics that I feel greatly influenced the success of the class were, punctuality, involving the students in early childhood associations, promoting leadership in the community.

Some of the characteristics I feel should be further developed for a more successful experience for the students in an online setting are, prompt feedback on assignments and quizzes. From the twelve online classes I have taken, I can see that every instructor has a different style of providing feedback to their students. This task is usually time consuming and in some cases it requires for the instructor to master various technologies. First of all, rubrics for each project must be created. It's preferable for students to receive a copy of this before they submit their project. When the instructor returns the grade for the project, she can add comments within the rubrics page. Another solution is printing out the students paper, making annotations in it for the student to view their mistakes, and then scan the document and send it to the student as a PDF. The one I have seen most instructors favor is making notes with in the document in a different color ink or using the Word revision functionality, of course, this is only available when the assignment has been done in Word.
